Social Media
LinkedIn is poison
Facebook is poison
2h 31m average daily time on social media globally. Time online = time not in the real world, possibly less time with yourself.
people are more alone/isolated and less in communities, easy to influence and manipulate
people want things to be instant, to happen now
pleasure mentality (seeking pleasure)
the path to least resistance
dependent people don't realize their dependency/addiction (e.g. try not using it for 20 days if not addicted - most people can't).
especially bad for kids
AI placing better addictive content makes it much harder to handle (e.g. TikTok)
What are online platforms and what is their potential?
How to create a healthy tool? A tool that "just sits there quietly until you need to use it, vs. one that is trying to addict you, lure you in, manipulate you".
AI: The Danger of Outsourcing Intelligence
One of the biggest dangers of AI is for humans to outsource thinking to it. This prevents the brain from developing, training, and maintaining the ability to think. Outsourcing thinking to AI makes your brain think less, and less, and it loses its ability to think and solve intellectual problems due to the reliance on AI. This already happened since Google Maps - we no longer try to remember directions and our ability to navigate without maps is significantly worse because we have "outsourced" it.
Data: The new oil
Volume of information is far exceeding our ability to keep up with it. How can it be more digestible. Data fuels AI.
Smart Cities
Smart cities and thoughts on where Exalia can provide an infrastructure to enable them.
See your energy usage in-app
Fastest route based on real-time traffic, traffic lights data (very precise)
Parking spots in a city (with sensors) of where there is parking available
Data on society (electricity usage in different areas, traffic and where does it flow from/to, flow of people (anonymised))
Exalia powers a complete interaction between the physical world and a digital interface to engage with it.
Exalia is in a way, a digital "mirror" of the physical world. It digitizes society, becoming a way to easily interface with the real world.
One important aspect of smart cities, Industry 4.0 and IoT is creating a "digital twin" of society. This is a data representation of society where you can collect data on transport, usage, etc to create real-time models and simulations on how the city/society functions.
